The Nature Materials

Last week I´ve visited the Central Slovakia Gallery wirh my school from our subject Art and Culture. Our first stop of the exhibition was an empty room.
At least it seemed it was at the first sight. Many of my classmates were going like: "What we paid 1€ so we can see an empty room?"Everyone was looking for the paintings. But in fact the room wasn´t empty when you looked closely you could see the fascinating journey of light.
As we were walking through the rooms in gallery we´ve discovered many another little wonders.I would like to thank Richard Loskot and Michal Šimofy who stood behind all of this for taking us into this amazing journey.
At the end I think it will be true if I say that this was probably the most interesting exhibition I´ve ever seen.

Pop Art, Kitsch and Pop culture

What is Pop culture?
  • Pop culture, short for popular culture, describes the lifestyle and tastes of the majority of mostly younger people.Popular culture is the entirety of ideas, perspectives, attitudes, memes, images and other.

What is pop art?
  • Pop art is an art movement from USA and UK.It´s mass producede and makes ordinary objects seem extraordinary.
What is Kitsch?
  • A word Kitsch is actually a loanword. It´s taken from German word "verkitschen etwas" which means to "knock something off".Kitsch is overly sentimental, pretentious, over decorated or banal. It´s so bad that it´s good in an ironic way.

Example of pop art: This is my favourite pop art. It´s from Andy Warhol who became known for his portraits of celebrities and commercials. You can see her majesty queen Elizabeth II in this picture.I have choosen this picture because it´s really colourful and it portraits her majesty in a different way we are used to see her.

My example of pop art: Here you can see my pop art.I was inspired by Roy Lichtenstein´s painting in comic style which I really like.
.
Examples of kitsch: There´s a little stuffed teddy bear on the first picture. You can´t see it very well on the photo, but it´s really small, cute and a bit kitsch, but I like it and I think that many people do too.
On the second picture is a kitsch I found on the internet. It´s called "The Widow" and I like it because it´s very sentimental and has a mass appeal.

Exibition a conversation leading elsewhere

Recently,I went to see an exibition of Mária Čorejová from school. It presents a new  work-ink drawings from Mária Čorejová as well as a selection of works from the succesful projects Mind Games and Eo Instanto/ in this moment.Mária invited art collective 13 Kubikov.
When we visited the exibition we had a tour of the works and we discussed some of the main ideas in the exibition such as the life and what maight the liquid one the pictures symbolize and answers to questions she gave us in her paintings.
I think think this exibition was interesting because it made us think about life and what is really important to us, and in every piece of work we saw that there were many questions, but we have to find the answers on our own, which is I think is  good.
We then could choose a copy of one of her work and developed it ourselfs. This part was the most interesting.I liked that we all could express our own feelings about life.We have choosen the picture of Coliseum and fallen baloon in it.We painted more baloons which symbolise life and we used words to create the baloon. We wrote words that make life. Some abstract like love happines sadness and also some that we can touch like chair,skirt,table...

My Youth Without Youth review

Youth Without Youth is a very gripping movie directed by Francis Ford Coppola, based on a book by Romanian author Mircea Eliade.Tim Roth and Alexandra Maria Lara are starring in the movie. The story is situated in Romania, Switzerland and India.
The story starts when a 70 year old Dominic Matei is struck by lighting in Bukurest where he went to end his life. Doctors thought  Dominic is going to die, but instead of  that his age begins to reverse as his mind grow and he can suddenly  speak many languages. But it even has a dark side. His identity doubled and he can hardly remember his past and cannot differentiate which is true and what´s just a dream.
In my opinion the movie was really gripping from beginning to end.Few moments were scary for me.In this movie ,you never know what will happen next.I don´ usually watch films like this so I had to pay attention through the whole movie because it was easy to get lost in it.Althought I think that the director did a really great job in this film.I also like the acting. All actors were very convincing. Every actor played their role really well.If you want to see something else than a typical predictable Hollywood movie, I recommend you this movie.

Grace Kelly-her biography and why I admire her

Grace Patricia Kelly was born on November 12, 1929, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the third of four children Her personality was enchanting: pleasant kind and shy. At young age Grace decided to became an actress, and to study acting. After her high school in Philadelphia graduation in 1947 she went to New York to try her luck there.
In October 1947, she was admitted to American Academy of Dramatic Arts. To support herself through acting school she got a modeling job. As she started making movies she ended her modeling career and focused on film. She  made  her Broadway debut on November 16, 1949. She continued to work on Broadway until 1950 when she got her first big screen  role in a movie Fourteen Hours.
After Fourteen Hours her career skyrocketed. In the next years she  took roles in lots of movies. For example: High Noon, Mogambo, Dial M for Murder, Green Fire, Rear Window, The Country Girl, and The Bridges at Tokyo-Ri. She recived an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Mogambo, but did not win the award. The Country Girl was the most successful for her: she received the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the film.  She was one of the highest paid and most respected actresses in the world. In 1955, she was asked to join the United States Delegation at the Cannes Film Festival in France. During a photo shoot, she met Prince Rainier III of Monaco. They got married on April 19, 1956. She ended  her acting career. They had three children: Princess Caroline, Prince Albert, and Princess Stephanie. On September 13, 1982 Princess Grace had a road accident, which caused her death on September 14, 1982. She was 52 years old. After her death Prince was devastated and never got married again.
Grace on her wedding day
Grace Kelly is one of the most admired women in the world. People all over the world loved, and admired her. Almost 30 years after her tragic accident most of them still do. She had an amazing career as an actress but when she met Prince Rainer she was not afraid of losing it. She gave up her career and lost everything but she got it back  in her family.  Also she used her status to help other people (she did a lot of charity work). She followed her acting dream and did not gave up. And these are some of the things why I admire her.
She won an Oscar in 1945
